BHIVA supports several conference awards with the aim of rewarding and supporting young researchers in the field of HIV medicine.
 

The Margaret Johnson Best Oral Research Presentation
This prize is awarded to the presenter of the best oral research presentation at the annual spring conference. All oral research presentations are judged by a BHIVA-appointed oral research judging panel. To be eligible, the presenter must be of junior grade (sub-consultant or equivalent).
 

Best Poster Presentation
This prize is awarded to the presenter of the best poster research presentation at the annual spring conference. All poster research presentations are judged by a BHIVA-appointed poster research judging panel. To be eligible the presenter must be of junior grade (sub-consultant or equivalent).
 

Brian Gazzard Lectureship in HIV Medicine
The Brian Gazzard Lectureship in HIV Medicine is presented at the BHIVA autumn conference. The applicant must be under the age of 45 and can be clinically or non-clinically qualified.
 

Gilead Sciences SpR research award
To help promote doctors in training to undertake research, Gilead Sciences awards a research grant, to a Specialist Registrar in training for a research project in the field of HIV medicine. The award is presented at the BHIVA annual autumn conference.
