BHIVA Inpatient General Medicine for HIV Physicians Course 2013

Date: Wednesday 11 December 2013

Venue: National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), London

BHIVA developed a third one-day course for GU/HIV Physicians on Inpatient General Medicine. The course focused on managing medical issues arising in inpatients with HIV. The BHIVA Standards of Care for People Living with HIV state that it is critical for specialists undertaking inpatient care of people with HIV, or who undertake care of people with complex comorbidities or co-infections, to keep up to date with general medicine.

The course was open to a limited number of delegates and contained eight interactive workshops, including two new workshops (Haematology and Sepsis). In addition, the content of other workshops was updated and reflected the latest key issues in the various disease areas. Each delegate had the opportunity to attend six workshops throughout the day and workshops were facilitated by an HIV specialist and a non-HIV specialist.

We very much hope you enjoyed the course and found it of relevance to your educational needs.
