BHIVA General Medicine for HIV Physicians Course

Download Programme Date: Thursday 20 November 2014

Venue: National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), London

BHIVA developed a fourth one-day General Medicine course for GU/HIV Physicians. The course focused on managing medical issues arising in inpatients with HIV. The BHIVA Standards of Care for People Living with HIV state that it is critical for specialists undertaking inpatient care of people with HIV, or who undertake care of people with complex comorbidities or co-infections, to keep up to date with general medicine.

The course was open to a limited number of delegates and contained eight interactive workshops. In addition, the content of other workshops was updated and reflected the latest key issues in the various disease areas. Each delegate had the opportunity to attend up to nine workshops throughout the day and workshops were facilitated by an HIV specialist and a non-HIV specialist.

The feedback from delegates who attended the course was extremely positive, with many commenting on the high quality of the presentations and workshop content.
