The BHIVA Research Awards provide funding for research projects that impact on the improvement of clinical care, management, health and wellbeing of people living with HIV and on the prevention of HIV transmission. Originally launched in 2006, BHIVA has made over 100 grants. From 2006 to 2024, the judging panel, led by an appointed chair, has funded research projects to a total of over £943k.
BHIVA paused the awards in 2025 for a review of the scheme. The BHIVA Education and Scientific Subcommittee is delighted to announce that the awards are now open with updated guidance for 2026.
